Psychotherapy refers to a range of treatments that can help with mental health problems, emotional challenges, and some psychiatric disorders. It aims to enable, clients, to understand their feelings, and what makes them feel positive. It focuses on problem solving and achievement of your goals. That means at the onset of treatment, we identify and clarify what your concerns are, what your problem state is and what is your solution state, as defined by you, the client.
I employ a range of therapies that include - Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Clinical Hypnotherapy, Neo Linguistic Programming (NLP), Counselling, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. Its goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people’s difficulties, and so change the way they feel. It is used to help treat a wide range of issues in a person’s life, from sleeping difficulties or relationship problems, to drug and alcohol abuse or anxiety and depression. CBT works by changing people’s attitudes and their behavior by focusing on the thoughts, images, beliefs and attitudes that are held (a person’s cognitive processes) and how these processes relate to the way the person behaves, as a way of dealing with emotional problems. ​

Clinical Hypnotherapy, particularly Ericksonian Clinical Hypnotherapy has a strong evidence-base within psychological research for helping people reach their goals in life, both to reduce obstacles in the way of happiness, and to promote principles of well-being. It is an efficient and expedient therapy that is practiced worldwide. Clinical Hypnotherapy embraces mind power and your mind power is the strongest most useful power you process. This power consists of your thoughts. The thoughts that pass through your mind are responsible for everything that happens in your life. Your predominant thoughts influence your behavior and attitude and control your actions and reactions.
NLP is all about bringing about changes in perception, responsible communication and developing choices of responses or communication in a given situation. NLP works on the principle that everyone has all the resources they need to make positive changes in their own life.
NLP it acknowledges the link between thought, feelings and actions/behavior, but the challenge for CBT is that most thought is subconscious and CBT does not work with the unconscious mind
NLP can be used for treating anxiety, phobias and confidence building. NLP uses perceptual, behavioral, and communication techniques to make it easier for people to change their thoughts and actions
Counselling is the support provided to people experiencing emotional difficulties by helping them to identify and work through their issues. Counselling is about talking and listening (personal communications) between the client and myself so that we identify your concerns and structure strategies that assist in overcoming the difficulties in your life and make the changes you want to make.
